The most expensive property in the world... $ 500 Million





Villa "La Leopolda", arguably one of the most superb villas in the world is located in the South of France behind Beaulieu and Villefranche- sur-mer.

One of several villas created by Belgium King Leopold for his various mistresses, this magnificent villa sits on 10 acres of immaculate grounds cares by 50 gardeners.

In 1952, Fiat tycoon Gianni Agnelli purchased the estate for $ 100,000.
In 1980 the mansion was offered to Lily Safra wife of renowned banker Edmund Safra, for $3 million.
In 2006, Safra's widow sold the estate to Bill Gates, at the time the world's wealthiest man for a sum in excess of $ 76 Million.

Rumor has that London-based Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich ( worth $ 23 Billion) is about to purchase "The Leopolda" for $ 500 Million.


To this days, the hillsides of Villefranche- sur -mer and Monaco will remain the playground of the wealthy 99% of the world.
